The Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan Capital Campaign
Overview and Pillars
A Campaign for the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan
When the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan opens in 2014/2015, it will offer the best practices in patient and family-centred care.
The new children’s hospital will blend obstetrical, newborn and pediatric services which will make up the continuum of maternal and children’s care. Pediatric services anticipated to be delivered within the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan include neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric ambulatory services and pediatric emergency services. Maternal services anticipated to be delivered include perinatal assessment and birthing, postpartum care and obstetrics, antepartum, and labour and delivery services.
Our $25 million Children’s Hospital Capital Campaign will support the advancement of research, innovation and family-centred care in the Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan.
The focus of the campaign is positioned into three pillars:
1. Research Program and Innovation
2. Equipment and Technology Enhancements
3. Family-Centred Care/Provincial Outreach
Families will be an integral part of the patient care process and will be provided the education, information and skills to meet their child’s needs. For example, when children need their parents most, they will be able to stay in their child’s private room. Additionally, programs such as an information resource centre where parents and family members can go to receive and locate pertinent information about their child’s condition with a staff member will be available to assist with searches and offer suggestions regarding information sources.
The Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan and its family-centred environment and philosophy will serve both in-patients and out-patients facing a wide range of issues -- from oncology to eating disorders – and help children and their families cope with the hospital experience.
